Gareth, I— I need help.

( A BREATHLESS, CATASTROPHIC MOMENT )

One of the flamingos has turned blue.

( or it's just Marisol being a dick )

Don't be so crass, I would never.

( Quelle horreur, etc. )

Does the quarantine have you in the Gallows, or were you locked out rather than in?

You will endure this. They are not what they once were, and you are far stronger than any of them.

When the quarantine is over — and it will end, Gareth — if you wish you have a place in Hightown if ever you should want it. If you never wish to sleep there another night, I will do whatever I can to make that so.

That would be for the best, yes. ( She can come up with a good reason for him being around, even if they have to pretend he's staff. She'd rather not do that, but considerations must be made. )

It is... something, but barely a consolation. I think when this is done we need to gather ourselves and consider what our long term plans are. This was not a strike against mages, specifically, but it is an insult to old injuries.

It might be more useful to engage the Loyalists and find out what they consider to be the advantages, and slowly draw them to more flexible perspectives.

( Considering, rather than necessarily adding it to her to do list. Beliefs were beliefs, but some part of her would like not to have the messiness of mages divided. )

A smaller group can act with more subtlety. If we can position ourselves in different projects to try and guide them in useful directions and maintain awareness of developments, we can decide the best course of action over time. There is a great deal at stake, but I'm eager not to see mage rights simply left to the side until they are convenient again, and we are no longer essential.

This is all on the assumption Nell and Kostos wish to be involved, and have not found others they'd sooner work with.

They would want you to be involved without doubt, Gareth.

( She is the newest arrival here, and though she isn't exactly overwhelmed by doubt and insecurity, some things gnaw at her. That unfortunate "living being" tendency, and such.

When she speaks, there is a slight smile in her voice. She is very fond of Gareth. )

You don't need to be high profile, if that makes you uncomfortable. Having an ear to the ground, being involved, those are important steps. Slowly contributing more so that they share more information with you? That will be useful. And obviously diversifying who we have where is useful, but picking projects that you feel suit your skills and interests? That is important, too, if you wish to be able to learn more, trust your instincts.

Ah, but if I cannot convince you let me give you hair treatments, how am I to convince the others to be classy?

Mm. ( A little sound of consideration, and she has to do her utmost not to laugh. ) You can say it was stress that drove you to consider brutally pragmatic approaches.

( Anyway, ) An archivist would be a good position to find yourself in. Do you think you would enjoy it?
